THE WEIGHTS AND MEASURES (GENERAL) REGULATIONS, 1928, AMENDMENT REGULATIONS, 1928

WEIGHTS AND MEASURES.

The Weights and Measures (General) Regulations, 1928, Amendment Regulations, 1928, made by the Minister for Industry and Commerce on the Seventeenth day of December, 1928, pursuant to the Weights and Measures Acts, 1878 to 1928.

Pursuant to the powers conferred on him by the Weights and Measures Acts, 1878 to 1928, and all other powers in that behalf enabling him, the Minister for Industry and Commerce hereby makes the following Regulations :—

(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Weights and Measures (General) Regulations, 1928, Amendment Regulations, 1928.

(2) These Regulations shall come into force on the 15th day of January, 1929.

(3) In the construction of these Regulations—

" The Minister " means the Minister for Industry and Commerce.

" Inspector " means an Inspector or ex-officio Inspector of Weights and Measures.

(4) These Regulations shall apply only to bottles in respect of which the Inspector is satisfied that they were in stock or in use for trade on or before the 3rd day of February, 1926 ; and that they were not used in trade after the 31st day of August, 1928, by the person applying for the verification and stamping of the same.

(5) The Inspector may, on the coming into force of these Regulations and at any time up to and including the 14th day of April, 1929, but not after that date, stamp any bottles to which these Regulations apply although such bottles do not comply with the requirements contained in paragraphs (a), (b), (e), and (f) of Regulation 40 of the Weights and Measures (General) Regulations, 1928.

(6) Bottles which have been stamped under and in accordance with these Regulations may be continued in use for trade during such period as the Minister shall prescribe by Order.
