THE UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE (INSURANCE YEAR) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1927.

THE UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE (INSURANCE YEAR) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1927, DATED 26th DAY OF MARCH, 1927, MADE BY THE MINISTER FOR INDUSTRY AND COMMERCE UNDER THE UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE ACTS, 1920 to 1926.

The Minister for Industry and Commerce in pursuance of Section 35 of the Unemployment Insurance Act, 1920, and Section 5 of the Unemployment Insurance Act, 1926 , and all other powers in that behalf enabling him, hereby makes the following Regulations :—

1. The expression " insurance year " shall, after the termination of the insurance year ending on the 3rd day of July, 1927, mean :—

(1) The period beginning on the 4th day of July, 1927, and ending on the 1st day of July, 1928, and

(2) thereafter the period commencing on the Monday following the first Sunday in October in each year and ending on the first Sunday in October in the next following calendar year, and so on from year to year.

2. For the purpose of making provision for the period beginning on the 2nd day of July, 1928, and ending on the 7th day of October, 1928, being a period of time between the end of one insurance year and the commencement of the next insurance year, the said period shall be included in the preceding insurance year, and accordingly the insurance year commencing on the 4th day of July, 1927, shall for all purposes of the Unemployment Insurance Acts, 1920 to 1926, and the Regulations and Orders thereunder, and notwithstanding anything contained in Article I of these Regulations, continue up to and terminate on the 7th day of October, 1928.

3. Nothwithstanding anything contained in Article 7 of Part II of the Unemployment Insurance (Collection of Contributions) Regulations, 1920, an Unemployment Book may be specified to be current during the period from 4th day of July, 1927, to the 7th day of October, 1928.

4. Article 7 of the Unemployment Insurance (Benefit) Regulations, 1920, is hereby repealed in so far as the same is inconsistent with these Regulations.

5. These Regulations may be cited as the Unemployment Insurance (Insurance Year) (Amendment) Regulations, 1927, and shall come into operation on the date thereof.
