STATUTORY RULES AND ORDERS. 1926. No. 78.

THE SCHOOL ATTENDANCE ACT, 1926 (COMMENCEMENT) (No. 2) ORDER, 1926.

WHEREAS it is enacted by Sub-section (2) of Section 27 of the School Attendance Act, 1926 (No. 17 of 1926), that that Act shall come into operation on such day as may be fixed for the purpose by the Minister for Education by order either generally or with reference to any particular sections or for any particular areas or districts, and different days may be so appointed for different sections of that Act or for different areas or districts,

AND WHEREAS it is expedient that the said Act should come into operation for the areas hereinafter mentioned on the 1st day of January, 1927,

NOW I, JOHN MARCUS O'SULLIVAN, Minister for Education, in exercise of the power conferred on me by Sub-section (2) of Section 27 of the School Attendance Act, 1926 (No. 17 of 1926), and every and any other power me in this behalf enabling, do hereby order as follows :—

1. This Order may be cited for all purposes as the School Attendance Act, 1926 (Commencement) (No. 2) Order, 1926.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1923 (No. 46 of 1923) applies to the interpretation of this Order in like manner as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of the Oireachtas.

3. The School Attendance Act, 1926 (No. 17 of 1926) shall come into operation on the 1st day of January, 1927, for the several school attendance areas constituted by the School Attendance (Constitution of Areas) Order, 1926, made by the Minister for Education on the 20th day of December, 1926.
