SCHOOL ATTENDANCE ACT, 1926(COMMENCEMENT) ORDER No. 1, 1926.

SCHOOL ATTENDANCE ACT, 1926 (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER No. 1, 1926.

WHEREAS it is enacted by subsection (2) of section 27 of the School Attendance Act, 1926 (No. 17 of 1926) that that Act shall come into operation on such day as may be fixed for that purpose by the Minister for Education by order either generally or with reference to any particular sections or for any particular areas or districts and different days may be so appointed for different sections of that Act or for different areas or districts,

AND WHEREAS it is expedient that the said Act should come into operation for the areas hereinafter mentioned on the 1st day of October, 1926,

NOW, I, JOHN MARCUS O'SULLIVAN, Minister for Education, in exercise of the power conferred on me by subsection (2) of section 27 of the School Attendance Act, 1926 (No. 17 of 1926) and of every and any other power me in this behalf enabling do hereby order as follows, that is to say :—

1. This Order may be cited for all purposes as the School Attendance Act, 1926 (Commencement) Order, No. 1, 1926.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1923 (No. 46 of 1923) applies to the interpretation of this Order in like manner as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of the Oireachtas.

3. The School Attendance Act, 1926 (No. 17 of 1926) shall come into operation on the 1st day of October, 1926, for each of the following school attendance areas, namely :—

The county borough of Cork,

The county borough of Dublin,

The county borough of Waterford,

Blackrock urban district,

Dun Laoghaire urban district,

Rathmines and Rathgar urban district, and

Pembroke urban district.
