THE SEANAD RETURNING OFFICER'S CHARGES AT SEANAD ELECTIONS ORDER, 1926.

ORDER by the Minister for Finance, dated 24th March, 1926, prescribing a scale of maximum charges of the Seanad Returning Officer at an Election of Members to Seanad Eireann held pursuant to the Electoral Act, 1923 , as amended by the Constitution (Amendment No. 1) Act, 1925 , and the Electoral (Seanad Elections) Act, 1925 .

In pursuance of the powers conferred upon me by Sections 25 (5) and 45 of the Electoral Act, 1923 , I, EARNAN DE BLAGHD, being the Minister for Finance of Saorstát Eireann, hereby prescribe that the Seanad Returning Officer shall be entitled in respect of the performance of his statutory duties in connection with an Election of Members to Seanad Eireann to his reasonable charges not exceeding the sums hereinafter set forth, provided that the charges for disbursements are in no case to exceed the sums actually and necessarily paid or payable.

(a) For Services of Seanad Returning Officer.

To the Seanad Returning Officer for conducting the counting of the Votes and performing all other duties which a Seanad Returning Officer is required by law to perform—£15o.

(b) Disbursements of Seanad Returning Officer.

For legal, clerical and other assistance and all miscellaneous outlay:—

A minimum sum of £100 together with a sum of £3 for each complete 6,000 Seanad Electors polling.

This Order may for all purposes be cited as the Seanad Returning Officer's Charges at Seanad Elections Order, 1926 (No. 20 of 1926).
