THE PUBLIC BODIES (TRANSITORY PROVISIONS) ORDER, 1925.

DEPARTMENT OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT AND PUBLIC HEALTH.

WHEREAS I, the Minister for Local Government and Public Health, in pursuance of the powers vested in me by the Local Government Act, 1925 , and of all other powers enabling me in that behalf, did, by the Public Bodies Order, 1925 (hereinafter referred to as " the Principal Order ") make regulations respecting (amongst other things) the procedure of County Councils in connection with the construction and maintenance of roads :

AND WHEREAS it is expedient to make certain transitory provisions in regard to the first Provisional Road Works Scheme to be prepared and in regard to the first Road Works Meeting to be held in pursuance of the Principal Order (which scheme and meeting are hereinafter referred to respectively as " the First Provisional Road Works Scheme " and " the First Road Works Meeting ") and to modify the provisions of the Principal Order accordingly :

NOW THEREFORE I, the Minister for Local Government and Public Health, in exercise of the powers vested in me by the Local Government Act, 1925 , and of all powers in this behalf enabling me, do hereby order and direct as follows, that is to say :—

1. The Principal Order shall in its application to the preparation and confirmation of the First Provisional Road Works Scheme and to the holding of the first Road Works Meeting be modified as follows, that is to say :—

(a) In Article 40, for the words " not less than one month nor more than two months " there shall be substituted the words " not less than three weeks nor more than four weeks. "

(b) In sub-article (1) of Article 48, for the words " two months," shall be substituted the words " two weeks. "

(c) For sub-article (3) of Article 48, there shall be substituted the following sub-article, that is to say :—

" (3) On the receipt by the Secretary of the Provisional Road Works Scheme he shall send forthwith to every county councillor and publish in a newspaper circulating in the county a notice that the Provisional Road Works Scheme has been made by the county surveyor and is deposited in the offices of the council for inspection."

(d) In sub-article (4) of Article 50, for the word " November " shall be substituted the word " January. "

2. This Order may be referred to as the Public Bodies (Transitory Provisions) Order, 1925.
