Police Forces Amalgamation Act, 1925

Interpretation.

2.—(1) In this Act—

the expression “the Minister” means the Minister for Justice;

the expression “the amalgamated force” means the force formed by the amalgamation by this Act of the Dublin Metropolitan Police and the Gárda Síochána.

(2) For the purpose of this Act every rank mentioned in the third column of the First Schedule to this Act shall be deemed to be the rank in the amalgamated force corresponding to the rank in the Dublin Metropolitan Police and the Gárda Síochána (including the Civic Guard) respectively mentioned opposite thereto in the first and second columns of the said Schedule, and all references in this Act to corresponding ranks in the said several forces or any of them shall be construed accordingly.
