THE FOREIGN AND COLONIAL PARCEL POST AMENDMENT (No. 2) WARRANT, 1924, DATED 1st SEPTEMBER, 1924.

FOREIGN AND COLONIAL PARCEL POST.

I, the Minister for Finance of the Irish Free State, in exercise of all powers now vested in me by the Post Office Acts, 1908 to 1920, the Adaptation of Enactments Act, 1922 , the Ministers and Secretaries Act; 1924, and of all other powers enabling me in this behalf, do, by this Warrant, made on the representation of the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs (testified by his signing the same), order, direct and declare as follows:—

(1) This Warrant shall be read as one with the Foreign and Colonial Parcel Post Warrant, 1921, S.R. & O., 1921, No. 1513, and any Warrant amending the same.

(2) Except in the case of—

(a) a parcel liable to Customs Duty;

(b) a parcel addressed to a Government Department or to an officer of a Government Department, in his official capacity;

there shall be charged on each incoming parcel received from any place outside the Irish Free State a Delivery Fee. The amount of such fee shall be published in Iris Oifigiúil, but shall in no case exceed one shilling. Such Delivery Fee shall be paid by the addressee in addition to any other charges payable on such parcel.

(3) On and from the date on which this Warrant comes into operation the Warrant mentioned in the Schedule hereto shall be repealed to the extent mentioned in the third column of such Schedule. Provided that—

The repeal by this Warrant or any Warrant shall not affect—

(a) Anything done or suffered before this Warrant comes into operation.

(b) Any legal proceeding commenced before this Warrant comes into operation in pursuance of any Warrant hereby repealed, and any such legal proceeding may be carried on and completed as if this Warrant had not been made.

(4) This Warrant may be cited as the "Foreign and Colonial Parcel Post Amendment (No. 2) Warrant, 1924."

(5) This Warrant shall came into operation on the 1st day of September, 1924.
