Statistics as to weight and sale of cattle.

3.(1) The market authority of every market and fair held in any of the places mentioned in the schedule to this Act shall send to the Board of Agriculture[1] returns, at such intervals, and in such form and with such particulars as the Board of Agriculture[1] by order prescribe, showing, so far as the market authority can ascertain the same, the number of cattle entering and the number and weight of cattle weighed at the market or fair, and the price of the cattle sold thereat. (3) If a market authority wilfully makes default in complying with the requirements of this section, it shall for each offence be liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding twenty pounds, or in case of a continuing offence to a fine not exceeding ten pounds for every day during which the offence continues.

(4) If any person makes any false or fraudulent statement in any return made in pursuance of this section he shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.

(5) The Board of Agriculture[1] may from time to time vary or add to the list of places in the schedule to this Act.
