Penalties on persons assaulting constables.

20. Every person who assaults or resists, or who aids or incites any person to assault or resist, any constable in the execution of his duty under the provisions of this or the special Act shall for every such offence be liable to a penalty not exceeding five pounds, or, in the discretion of the justice before whom he is convicted, may be imprisoned for any term not exceeding one month, with or without hard labour.

And with respect to obstructions and nuisances in the streets, be it enacted as follows:
