S.I. No. 183/2024 - Representative Actions for the Protection of the Collective Interests of Consumers Act 2023 (Section 29) (Maximum Fee) Regulations 2024

I, PETER BURKE, Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 3 and 29 (5) of the Representative Actions for the Protection of the Collective Interests of Consumers Act 2023 (No. 22 of 2023) and, having taken into account the matters referred to in section 29(7) of that Act, hereby make the following regulations:

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Representative Actions for the Protection of the Collective Interests of Consumers Act 2023 (Section 29) (Maximum Fee) Regulations 2024.

(2) These Regulations shall come into operation on the 30th day of April 2024.

2. A fee of €25 is prescribed for the purposes of section 29 (5) of the Representative Actions for the Protection of the Collective Interests of Consumers Act 2023 (No. 22 of 2023).

These Regulations provide for a qualified entity to charge a modest fee to a consumer, requesting to be represented in a representative action for redress, under section 29 of the Act.
